The Mothman is a seven foot tall winged humanoid creature that first appeared in Point Pleasant area in 1966. Many sightings of the creature occurred between November 1966 and December 1967, culminating with the collapse of the Silver Bridge killing 46. Also seemingly related UFO sightings occurred around the same area during this time, and visits by the eerie E.T. known as Indrid Cold. It it believed that sightings of the Mothman are an ominous sign that something terrible is soon to happen.
