Vladd III, commonly called Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula, was a prince of Wallachia in the 1400’s. His bloody wars with the Ottoman and merceless impalement of thousands marked him a brutal and formidable leader. Legends of his torture methods and murderous behavior spread into folklore even into Germany. Vlad left such a bloody impression in history that he became immortalized in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
