In the allegory of the cave Plato sets up a scenario detailing a person who has lived their whole life in the dark, so to say. And how being raised in ignorance of what reality is and the issues that arrive when they realize and accept the vastness of the truth. This allegory has been likened to the Truman show and the Matrix. It has been used to explain enlightenment and the ufo phenomenon. It makes one wonder if each of us are in fact in the cave now. I know personally, the more I learn the more I question what I think I know. With all the talk lately about Simulation Theory it makes me think is that the cave Plato was talking about? Or is it more spiritual than that?
